Master s Degree Programs
USC Rossier offers a range of academic programs that prepare students to start and advance careers as teachers, educational leaders, counselors and scholars. Our programs combine research and practice to help students apply innovative techniques in classrooms and learning environments around the world.
The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program prepares students to pursue careers as teachers. Credential tracks are offered at the Elementary and Secondary levels. The Special Education Credential, the Gifted Certificate, and the Bilingual Authorization for Spanish Certificate may be obtained through optional additional coursework.
World Language Teaching
The World Masters in Language Teaching (WMLT) program is a dynamic dual degree program that will prepare you to teach English and another language to a variety of learners in multilingual and multicultural settings in the U.S. and around the world. During the program, you will spend part of your time at USC in Los Angeles and part of your time at a premier partner university in Hong Kong or South Korea.
Teaching — Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
The Master of Arts in Teaching — Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MAT-TESOL) program prepares students to enter the teaching profession and pursue careers as English language teaching specialists working with children, youth, or adults, either in the U.S. or abroad.
Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs
The Master of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs (PASA) program prepares its graduates for professional roles in higher education administration and student affairs. PASA students acquire the knowledge, skills, and perspectives essential for success in any higher education setting.
The Master of Education in Educational Counseling (EC) program is designed for individuals seeking career or advancement opportunities in two- and four-year postsecondary institutions, with a focus on academic counseling and advising.
Learning Design and Technology
The Master of Education in Learning Design and Technology (LDT) program prepares students who want to start or advance careers in educational program design, online learning, corporate training, performance assessment, instructional design and evaluation, and the management of educational programs in a variety of settings.
Marriage and Family Therapy
The Master of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program prepares students for careers as counselors in clinics, healthcare centers, schools, and private practice. Program graduates who fulfill the additional state-mandated requirements are eligible for the State of California’s Marriage and Family Therapy license.
